Overview

The Church of Jesus Christ (Cutlerite) is a small Latter-day Saint restorationist church associated with Alpheus Cutler.

History

It was organised in 1853 after the succession crisis and traces its authority claims through Cutler, an early Latter Day Saint leader. Its historic communities were centred in the American Midwest.

Beliefs and emphases

It shares restorationist commitments to Jesus Christ, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, priesthood, ordinances, and continuing authority, while maintaining its own teachings on succession, temple matters, mission, and community practice.

Worship and practice

Worship is conducted within the church’s own local pattern of prayer, Scripture, teaching, ordinances, and fellowship.

Organisation and life

Its leadership and membership are very small and should be described from contemporary church material rather than assumed from a generic Latter-day Saint model.
