Quote
So we learn that all corruptible things, whether men or beasts or element, shall be consumed; but all that does not come under this awful edict shall remain. Therefore, the honest and upright of all nations, kindreds, and beliefs, who have kept the terrestrial or celestial law, will remain. Under these conditions, people will enter the great reign of Jesus Christ carrying with them their beliefs and religious doctrines. Their agency will not be taken from them.

Our revelations tells us that when the Lord comes, ‘‘every corruptible thing, both of man, or of the beasts of the field, or of the fowls of the heavens, or of the fish of the sea, that dwells upon all the face of the earth, shall be consumed; and also that of element shall melt with fervent heat.’ (D&C 101:24-25.) With this concept before us, we are able to envision what Zephaniah meant in the emphatic pronouncements he made along this same line. We shall now digest and quote a few of his words. "I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the Lord.’’ He is speaking of the day of burning that shall attend the Second Coming. ‘‘I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the Lord.’’ Nothing that is evil and wicked shall abide the day; all that falls short of the required standard shall be burned in the fires of fervent heat; it shall be as with man, so with the beast. Nothing that is corruptible shall remain.

Quote
Whereas the earth was cursed so that it brought forth thorns, thistles, briers, and noxious weeds, whereas man was required to eat his bread in the sweat of his face; whereas sorrow and death passed upon all men—all this in the beginning—now the ransom has been paid and all things have become new. The curse is gone and the earth is blessed, and all who dwell thereon enjoy peace and joy and life.
