In that day He will not come “wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger,” but He will appear “in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory; with all the holy angels.” We will hear “the voice of the archangel, and … the trump of God.” The sun and the moon will be transformed, and “stars [will] be hurled from their places.” You and I, or those who follow us, “the saints … from [every quarter] of the earth,” “shall be quickened and … caught up to meet him,” and those who have died in righteousness, they too will “be caught up to meet him in the midst … of heaven.” Then, a seemingly impossible experience: “All flesh,” the Lord says, “shall see me together.” How will it happen? We do not know. But I testify it will happen—exactly as prophesied. We will kneel in reverence, “and the Lord shall utter his voice, and all the ends of the earth shall hear it.” “It shall be … as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder.” “[Then] the Lord, … the Savior, shall stand in the midst of his people.” There will be unforgettable reunions with the angels of heaven and the Saints upon the earth. But most important, as Isaiah declares, “All the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God,” and He “shall reign over all flesh.” In that day the skeptics will be silent, “for every ear shall hear …, and every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess” that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Today is Easter. We rejoice with Christians all over the world in His glorious Resurrection and in our own promised resurrection. May we prepare for His coming by rehearsing these glorious events over and over in our own minds and with those we love, and may His prayer be our prayer: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” I testify that He lives. “Come, O thou King of Kings.” In the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Neil L. Andersen, "Thy Kingdom Come," Ensign or Liahona, May 2015, 122. 260826

Brothers and sisters, we're at a moment in this church, His church, the Savior's church, when there is a demonstrable, near tangible hastening of the work. These continue to be the latter days, with no one knowing when that last last day is going to be. Nevertheless, we know the undeviating trajectory toward it began 198 years ago in a grove of trees near Palmyra, New York. Continuing revelation to prophets, seers, and revelators since that first great theophany to the Prophet Joseph has stimulated significant developments down through the years, including in the present day. There will be more. On his recent trip through South America, President Russell M. Nelson said, and I quote, "We are witnesses to a process of restoration. If you think the Church has been fully restored, you're just seeing the beginning. There is much more to come . . . Wait till next year. And then the next year. Eat your vitamin pills. Get your rest. It's going to be exciting." I'm not an apocalyptic person, and none of us should sit around waiting for extraterrestrial rapture, but we do stand unequivocally with those angelic beings in Acts 1 who said, "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." In what the ordinances and the scriptures call that Day of the Lord Jesus Christ, I imagine not only the dramatic universal appearance of his light coming out of the east and his descent upon two Jerusalems, but I also imagine a more personal encounter: a solitary Christ standing at a solitary door making a solitary knock. Can you imagine being caught up to meet Him, whether on this side or the other side of the veil? That is His promise to the righteous. This amazing experience will mark our souls forever.

May Christ lift thee up as it says at the close of The Book of Mormon and that it will be a real experience in your life and will sustain you in your times of trouble. May you be guided by the things of your soul, that you will be prepared to join with the hosts of heaven when the Savior returns, that you will know Him as the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, the Prince of Peace. ... I will tell you, as I prepared my message, the image I had of Samuel the Lamanite, standing on the wall, dodging the arrows and the threats and the vile words that were being spoken to him, reminded me to some degree of the world we live in today. I work with President Nelson very closely in communicating his words to the world, and candidly, it hurts me to see some of the things that are said about him and the church in social media and in newspapers and other media. And as I was pondering that and preparing my remarks for tonight, I had the sweetest confirmation that the words of Russell Marion Nelson will prevail in many of Heavenly Father's childrens lives, and I think that's evidenced by the wonderful audience we have joining us throughout North America tonight for this devotional. As you've probably read, five of my other brethren of the twelve have taken other areas of the world, and in total six of these devotionals have happened today throughout the world. I hope that tells all of you how important your generation is to this church. Ronald A. Rasband [Young Adult English Area Devotional with Elder Rasband, Jan. 9, 2022], Gospel Library. 260826

In His infinite and eternal mercy, the Lord, through His prophets and apostles, has continually invited His sons and His daughters to prepare for His coming and become a Zion people—ready to be raised up to meet Him (see Alma 12:24; 34:32; Doctrine and Covenants 45:45; 65:5; 88:96–97). My dear brothers and sisters, we love Jesus Christ. He will come again. We are preparing for that across the world. He restored the gospel that He might have a righteous people in every country, every nation, every culture, every language. When we were having lunch with Prime Minister Fakafānua I thought at that moment we have so many members of the church in Tonga. I hope that we are the light to the country. I hope that our good neighbors see in us unselfishness, gentleness, love, patience. Let us be the true followers of Christ and let us be a light to all of those around us. A few years ago, I wrote from the scriptures what it might be like as the Savior returns. He will return. Would He be in the temple in Tonga? Of course he will. The righteous people here will see His face and all of us across all the world will know who He is. The Central Being of all human history. I wrote these words, "In that day He will not come “wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger,” but He will appear “in the clouds of heaven, clothed with power and great glory; with all the holy angels.” We will hear “the voice of the archangel, and … the trump of God.” The sun and the moon will be transformed, and “stars [will] be hurled from their places.” You and I, or those who follow us, “the saints … from [every quarter] of the earth,” “shall be quickened and … caught up to meet him,” and those who have died in righteousness, they too will “be caught up to meet him in the midst … of heaven.” Then, a seemingly impossible experience: “All flesh,” the Lord says, “shall see me together.” How will it happen?
